32 students win 1st prize at ChPO Shanghai Regional and 18 enter Shanghai team

After the selection of semi-final theory exam on Sept. 21 and semi-final experiment exam on Sept. 28, the winning list of the 36th Chinese Physics Olympiad Shanghai Regional was announced recently. Of the total 59 first prize winners, 32 were from our school, including 4 from Zizhu Campus and 18 students were enlisted in the 23 formal places of the Shanghai team, who will participate in the 36th Chinese Physics Olympiad on behalf of Shanghai from Oct. 24 to 31 held in Hangzhou. In the past two years, our school students made good achievements, winning international gold medals and Asian gold medals in Physics and this time, they succeeded again.

No.2 High School owns an excellent Physics coaching team and a strong innovative learning atmosphere. Against the background of national education reforms in the new era, the Physics team has been actively exploring the new mode of training top-notch innovative personnel, holding onto the school-running thoughts of “pursuing excellence, cultivating personnels who create the future” and the target requirements of “excellence plus specialty” and it has made extraordinary achievements for the past few consecutive years. According to incomplete statistics, up to now, 30 students from Grades 11 and 12, including 3 from Zizhu Campus, have won first, second prizes or the best awards in Physics Experience Camp of Tsinghua University and Peking University. A student from Grade 10 Zizhu Campus won first prize in Physics Summer Camp of Peking University.

Our school hereby would like to extend congratulations to the winners and the Physics team and hopes that students of No.2 High School in the Shanghai team will achieve outstanding results again in the national final!
