Our Students win 7 gold, 7 silver and 1 bronze medal at 37th Chinese Physics Olympiad Final

On the evening of Oct. 28, 2020, the final of the 37th Chinese Physics Olympiad closed in Changsha, Hunan. After fierce competitions, 365 players from around the country won 120 gold medals, 120 silver medals, and 125 bronze medals. Players from our school stood out and won 7 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. Among them, Shi Jingzhe and Zhuo Yongqi from Grade 12 won gold medals and were selected for the national team. Zhou Zhiyuan, Xue Zehao, Xu Yang, and Fu Yiyang from Grade 12 and Xiong Xiaoyu from Grade 10 won gold medals. Teng Rong, Zhang Zhentao, Zhou Qixuan from Grade 12, Shu Zhengqin, Qiao Chu from Grade 11, Wu Dailin from Grade 11 of Zizhu Campus and Dong Yu from Grade 10 won silver medals. Zhuang Bohao from Grade 10 won the bronze medal.

So far, 5 year-2021 graduates have been selected from the national team of the Physics competition and they were recommended for admission eligibility. Among them, Han Yongyan was selected for the China’s National Team of the 51st International Physics Olympiad. Eight other players who won the gold and silver medals in the final were qualified as exceptional finalists for the “strengthening basic disciplines program”. A total of 13 students winning silver or gold medals in the final of the Physics competition were admitted into Tsinghua University or Peking University in advance, and they set the best results for our school, No.2 High School of East China Normal University in recent years in the Physics competition once again.

Our school hopes that those who enter the national team will continue to exert themselves and challenge a new height bravely and that students from Grades 10 and 11 will keep trying and create greater results.
