Badminton Motivates Blossom of Youth

—— on International Division Badminton Competition Fall Seasonal

It was a sunny day with a gentle breeze on November 26.  Students from the International Division sat still at the auditorium of the gymnasium in advance, and the badminton competition fall seasonal officially began in the afternoon.

The competition was held in groups, and each group drew lots to decide its opponents.  All contestants were divided into three groups – the group of 6th and 7th graders, the group of 8th and 9th graders and the group of 10th, 11th and 12th graders. Also, 6th to 9th graders competed as a class while 10th to 12th graders competed as a grade. Lots were drawn at noon on November 23rd to decide on the number of a contestant, and the numbers would determine the opponents within a group. The official competitions held on the afternoon of November 26th was divided into the preliminary and the final. The preliminary was the knockout round, with losers leaving the competition immediately and winners entering the final. The final was a round robin where the group champion came out. The competitions were obviously fierce, and the contestants went all out for the highest honor.

Attention was drawn to the competition of the junior high school group.  Confident smiles were everywhere to be seen on the young players’ faces after the preliminary round. From time to time, they cheered for each other. They also displayed all kinds of skills to win the games.  There even appeared unexpected sliding-tackling catching on the court.  Finally, classes of 6B, 6C, 7B and 8A, 8C and 9A won the games.

The senior high school competition on the other side of the court became the highlight, and all players displayed qualities of an excellent professional athlete, keeping a very high dribbling speed to control the field. The players started to fight fiercely with opponents from the very beginning of the game. Deep clear, smash shotting, attacking down, lobbing and other dribbling skills were performed incisively and vividly, and the scores were constantly rewritten. Everyone tried their best to create wonderful moments, which attracted cheers from the audience. The performance of the 10th graders was particularly eye-catching.  They didn’t lose momentum against 11th and 12th graders, and they finally won the games.

The competition ended with a grand award ceremony, and Ms. Wang Wei, Director of the International Division presented winners with awards.

It was worth noting that the preparation and referee work of the competition were undertaken by students, who made great contributions to the success of the competition. Youth offers students the physical strength to play freely and the intelligence to organize and prepare for the competition. Life lies in physical exercise, and so as health is . The contestants released their youthful vigor throughout the competition, and they also fully demonstrated the spirits of unity, hard work and advancement.
