Sage Club awarded Five Star Club in Pudong New District

The evaluation and selection of star rated clubs in Pudong New District was launched in September 2024. After fierce competitions in many sessions such as campus selection, material submission, online presentation and defense, online selection, and nationwide voting, Sage Club from our school was ultimately awarded the title of “Five Star Club in Pudong New District”. This honor is not only a recognition of Sage’s outstanding performance over the past year, but also a recognition of its efforts in cultivating students’ entrepreneurial spirit, social responsibility, sustainability awareness, and global perspective.

On October 16th, during the online presentation and defense session, Club Head Ji Ruini from 2605 provided a detailed introduction to Sage Club, which is an outstanding organization with unified thinking, knowledge, diversity, an open and transparent internal system, good organizational construction, high quality of activity, strong professionalism, and wide influence. Sage Club not only won the “Excellent Club in 2023 Academic Year” and “Top Ten Clubs in 2024 Academic Year”, but also organized Open Day & Financial Camp jointly with HSBC in both winter and summer vacations of 2024, and co-hosted the second and third “Four Schools Cup” Innovation Business League and the 16th “Bochuang Cup” International Summit Trials with D&P Global Business Union (Shanghai) Center, and participated in the 2024 Campus Open Day Club Exhibition Activities and Club Garden Party in 2023 Academic Year, all of which further expanded the influence and popularity of Sage Club.

In the evaluation and selection of star rated clubs, students from Sage Club stepped out of school and shone on the district level stage. On November 15th, representatives from Sage Club went to Beicai Senior High School Affiliated to Shanghai Maritime University to receive this honorary award. The achievement is the result of joint efforts of all club members, and it also reflects the school’s emphasis on the development of student clubs. Sage Club will continuously commit to broadening students’ economic perspectives, stimulating specialties, and helping cultivate more innovative and practical talents.

Sage, the acronym of “Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship”, is an entrepreneurial pioneer program for global high school students, and it was originated from California State University at Chico. It aims to participate in competitions through team based practical entrepreneurship projects and cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit in young people. Since its establishment in 2003, the club has been committed to increasing students’ knowledge of economics, broadening vision, and integrating education with entertainment. On campus, a special course called “Behavioral Economics” has been offered in this semester, and a campus garden party was organized to enrich the cultural life on campus. In terms of extracurricular activities, Sage encourages its members to voluntarily participate in the HSBC Financial Camp, various business competitions, and economics competitions. At the same time, it organizes club team building activities to enhance team cohesion. And courses related to economics and business are taken, world economic situation and hot issues closely followed, and research and analysis on classic business cases conducted.
