The Peking University National Model United Nations Conference for High School Students 2024 was grandly held from March 14th to March 17th at Peking University. On the 20th anniversary of Peking University Model United Nations, students from our school, No.2 High School of East China Normal University (ECNU) once again embarked on a four-day journey of Model United Nations to Peking University.
After five years, Peking University Model United Nations returned to Peking University and continued with its glorious history with representatives from all over the country. At the conference, Zhu Zhencheng from Class 11 Grade 11 and Yang Yuncheng from Class 5 Grade 10 respectively served as the representative of Japan to the World Heritage Council (WHC) and the Minister of Education of Ireland from the Bologna Process (BG). They made meticulous preparations on topics such as “Public Participation in World Heritage Declaration, Protection, and Development” and “Further Development of Higher Education in Europe”, boldly established and created conditions and actively participated in discussions, speeches, and the writing of leadership documents. Lu Jiayi from Class 7 Grade 11 served as a freelance writer for the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). She conducted questioning, reporting, and challenging in a meticulous style with profound and rich contents. The three participants fully demonstrated the outstanding talents of students from No. 2 High School of ECNU in different venues of Model United Nations.
At the conference, students from No. 2 High School of ECNU achieved gratifying results. Zhu Zhencheng from Class 11 Grade 11 won the award of “Best Preparation for the Conference”, and Lu Jiayi from Class 7 Grade 11 won “Best Style Award”. It is believed that our school’s Model United Nations Club will receive more honors in the future.
“For the past twenty years, the willows on the lakeside have turned green year after year, and I meet you under the tower for another year.” May we meet again in Peking University next year!
