Good news – our students win 1st Place of “Inspire Award” at FTC China Championship, qualified for World Championship

The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) China Championship recently concluded in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China, featuring 60 elite teams from across the country competing in the same arena. FTC 27501-EFZ Robotics Team from our school, No. 2 High School of ECNU stood out from many strong competitors at the high-level competition.  Relying on excellent engineering literacy, innovative robot design and outstanding team spirit, the team captured the event’s highest honor, winning the 1st Place of the “Inspire Award”, and with the top overall score in the nation, the team successfully achieved the ticket to the World Championship!

Throughout the competition season, our team traveled a journey full of twists and turns yet filled with rewards. From the initial presentations and adjustments at the Shanghai Regional Qualification Contest to the composed response and courageous struggle on the national stage, the growth of the team members has been astounding. Faced with sudden challenges during the match, such as gamepad malfunctions, the team responded calmly, working through the night to debug codes and optimize tactics. The Mechanical, Programming, Drive, Scouting, and Operation groups each performed their duties well, facing every duel with resilient will and professional aptitude. Following the intense elimination rounds, the team experienced a thrilling turnaround at the award ceremony – thanks to the comprehensive excellence in Engineering Portfolio, robot design, and teamwork, they won the highest honor representing the spirit of the tournament, thereby locking in their qualification for the World Championship.

Looking ahead, the EFZ Robotics Team will represent the school and China on the top-tier stage of international youth robotics competitions, engaging and competing with global experts.

This honor is the best affirmation of the team’s day-and-night dedication to and pursuit of excellence. It is a vivid embodiment of team cohesion and innovative spirit, as well as a showcase of the fruitful results of our school’s science education.
