Introduction to the International Division

The International Division of No. 2 High School of ECNU (established in 1999) is one of the earliest schools in Shanghai to be engaged in international education and is also a member of the UNESCO.

The International Division is renowned both domestically and internationally for its strong educational strength, comprehensive curriculum system that combines Eastern and Western elements, growth support system that caters to the individual needs of each student, and meticulous family-style care for students. It has attracted students from many countries and regions including the United States, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Indonesia, Sweden, Italy, the Philippines, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. It has also become the first choice for returnees’ children, accompanying children of foreign personnel, and overseas students. Over the years, all graduates from the International Division have been admitted to well-known universities both in China and abroad for further study.

Course Introduction

  • Junior High School Curriculum (Grades 6-9): Bilingual curriculum combining Eastern and Western elements, incorporating the “Excellence Education” tradition of No. 2 High School of ECNU, offering activity-based courses tailored to students’ individual talents and interests.
  • Senior High School Curriculum for Studying Abroad (Grades 10-12):Specialized courses of No. 2 High School of ECNU + AP courses.
  • Senior High School Curriculum for Studying in China (Grades 10-12): Specialized courses of No. 2 High School of ECNU, designed for students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan (Joint Examination of Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan) as well as foreign students expecting to study at universities in mainland China.
  • International Student Curriculum (Grades 6-12): Chinese language courses + specialized courses of No. 2 High School of ECNU, focusing on Chinese language teaching for foreign students expecting to improve their proficiency in Chinese.

(I) Scope of Admission

  • New students entering Grades 7-9 and 11 (for studying abroad) in September 2024
  • New students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan entering the first year of senior high school in September 2024
  • New students entering the first year of senior high school (for studying abroad) in September 2024

(II) Applicants

  1. Foreigners (holding foreign passports)
  2. Residents of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan
  3. For holders of overseas Permanent Residence Permit, please consult the admission teachers for specific requirements

(III) Admission Process

  1. Submit the completed Application Form, Guardian Guarantee Form (Please download them from the official website: http://www.hseid.com), scanned copy of the student’s passport, and scanned copies of the past two years’ academic transcripts to guojibu@hsefz.cn
  2. After receiving a reply email, submit the rest mandatory application materials as instructed
  3. Upon successful review of application materials, the student is officially enrolled, and a confirmation email stating “You have successfully registered for the Enrollment Consultation Meeting on June 25th” will be sent
  4. Application deadline: June 20th

(IV) Schedule

  • Students participate in comprehensive tests (12:00-16:30)
  • Parents attend consultation meeting (specific time and process will be notified via the invitation email after successful registration)
