I. Introduction to the International Division

Approved in 1999, the International Division of No.2 High School of East China Normal University (Zhangjiang Campus) is one of the earliest schools for international education in Shanghai and a member unit of UNESCO. The International Division is on the same campus as the Domestic Division of No.2 High School of East China Normal University (ECNU), which has been enjoying a glorious reputation for half a century. While completing junior and senior high school education, the enrolled foreign and overseas students also enjoy all resources of No.2 High School of East China Normal University, which is an experimental and demonstrative high school directly under the Ministry of Education! Together with the Domestic Division of the No.2 High School of ECNU, the International Division strives to practice the common development goals of cultivating top-notch innovative talents, building the world-class senior high school, and continuously accelerating the internationalization process.

The International Division is renowned both domestically and internationally for its strong educational strength, comprehensive curriculum system that combines Eastern and Western elements, growth support system that caters to the individual needs of each student, and meticulous family-style care for students. It has attracted students from various countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Indonesia, Sweden, Italy, the Philippines, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. It has also become the first choice for returnees’ children, accompanying children of foreign personnel, and overseas students. Over the years, all graduates of the International Division have been admitted to well-known universities both in China and abroad for further studies.

The school has always been committed to enhancing students’ international communication ability and competitiveness, strengthening the education of international understanding, and taking the training of international talents who have international perspectives, know international rules and are willing to participate in international exchanges as the educational goals. Based on good reputation and unique school running style, the International Division has also become the national “Chinese International Promotion Base for Primary and Secondary Schools”, and “Shanghai Municipality Chinese Education Base”. It is the earliest Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) center established in secondary schools throughout the country and has built the first Chinese international education and HSK testing center building in primary and secondary schools in the country. All of this makes the International Division more attractive in the training of students.

II.Course Introduction for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Class

The Senior High School courses for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan class have been offered since 2004, with the teaching outline of the “Examination Course for the Joint Recruitment of Overseas Chinese and Students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Regions by Universities in the People’s Republic of China”, providing specialized and customized courses for students taking this examination. Over the years, excellent results have been achieved.

  1. Core courses: closely follow the exam outline, and provide all courses in Chinese, Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, History, and Geography for the first year of Senior High School. According to exam requirements, the second semester of the first year of Senior High School begins with the division of liberal arts and sciences. Sciences class covers courses of Chinese, Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry while Liberal Arts class covers Chinese, Mathematics, English, History, Geography.
  2. Quality courses: In order to implement quality education and promote students’ comprehensive development, in addition to core courses, courses such as Biology, Physical Education, Psychology, and Fine arts are offered.
  3. Expansion courses: Pursuing excellence, developing potential, and laying a foundation for life are among the core educational philosophy. To meet this, the school has established dozens of clubs and elective courses such as Drama Club, Mini Film Club, Artificial Intelligence Programming Club, Model United Nations, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Club, Basketball Club, Football Club, and Badminton Club, to meet the diverse needs of students. Moreover, the Chinese youth academy of sciences and other institutions provide a good platform for students to conduct project research and innovative development.

(III) Enrollment process

  1. Please submit the completed Application Form, Guardian Guarantee Form (Please download them from the official website and complete them), scanned copy of the student’s passport, and scanned copies of the past two years’ academic transcripts to guojibu@hsefz.cn .
  2. After receiving a reply email, submit the rest mandatory application materials as required.
  3. Upon successful review of the application materials, the student will be officially enrolled, and a confirmation email stating “You have successfully registered for the Enrollment Consultation Meeting on November 3rd ” will be sent.
IV. Schedule

(I) Time: 12:30-16:30, November 3rd
(II) Content: Comprehensive written exams of Chinese, Mathematics, English, Physics, and Chemistry + comprehensive interviews
